THE DINGOES REUNITE FOR HIT ALBUM

In August 2009 The Dingoes were instated into the ARIA Hall of Fame. John Bois, Broderick Smith, Chris Stockley and Kerryn Tolhurst attended the awards together and gathered onstage for the first time in 30 years. As a result the fires were rekindled and the four gathered at Tolhurst's studio in Tucson Arizona earlier this year to see how it felt to play together again.

Premier and Minister for the Arts Anna Bligh today announced Brisbane songwriter team Danny Widdicombe and Andrew Morris as the winners of the $20,000 Grant McLennan Memorial Fellowship for 2010.

Golden Saddle Awards 2010

The 2010 Golden Saddle Awards are open for online entries for just 2 more weeks. The Golden Saddles grand prize is $5000 cash – the largest cash prize in Australian Country Music – and is a combination Music / Music Business Award.

 

4 Finalists will be chosen by the Golden Saddles Judging Panel + 1 Public Vote Finalist, selected via online voting. All 5 Finalists will be in the running to win the major prize AND the $1,000 Golden Saddles Peoples Choice Award.

 

The 5 Finalists will be announced at Rooty Hill RSL on Thursday 2nd September at a Media Announcement. Also appearing that night are 2009 Golden Saddle Award winner Lianna Rose & 2009 Golden Saddles Peoples Choice winner Luke O’Shea.

 

The 2010 Golden Saddles Concert & Awards will be held at Rooty Hill RSL on Saturday 9th October 2010, part of the TOTAL COUNTRY WEEKEND.

 

Entries are open to all independent artists residing in QLD, NSW, ACT, VIC & TAS who have commercially released music between February 1st 2009 and May 31st 2010.

 

The Golden Saddle Awards recognise Excellence in the Independent Country Music Scene.
