Costa Deserves Gong

CONGRATULATIONS to my Robinvale mate, Paul Costa, who finally found recognition for his heritage song Survivor 1932 by wining the Trailblazers Heritage Award at the Victorian and National Country Music Awards in Victoria.
Paul defeated Harmony James, Carter and Carter and Australian Country Music Unite to take out the National award. The Best New Talent award went to Victoria Baillie while Amber Lawrence won Best Female Vocalist.

“I am thrilled to have the recognition and thank all the DJs who played the song and the newspaper and TV people who supported me,” Paul said. “Appearing at the awards nights was simple for me as l had appeared there previously and had lots of country fans to support me”.

Paul looks forward to more touring this year and wants to visit parts of Australia he hasn’t been before. In This Life (Compass) is Paul’s latest album which received instant recognition around Australia. Best tracks include In This Life, No Turning back, Band of Brothers, Survivor 1932, Growing on Me and Big Time in a Small Town.

Paul will appear at the Lights on the Hill Trucking Memorial at Gatton on Saturday, February 27, with my mate, Jayne Denham, who had perhaps one of the best female country albums in 2009 with the release of Shake this Town which features the awesome track
Trucker Chicks which would be appropriate for the event.

We are sure to hear some great tracks from that album including Feral Kev and General Leeroy, A Farmer’s Wife, Road Train Fever and Girls of 75. Paul Costa, Jayne Denham, Sara Storer, Carmen Fraser, Adam Harvey and Jetty Road will appear at the Homebush Easter Country Muster, April 3 and 4 with yours truly MC.
