3 Golden Guitar Finalists On One Stage - Golden Saddle Awards Showcase 2010

Australian Country Music’s biggest cash prize competition is bringing a special treat to Tamworth this week. The Golden Saddle Awards present their inaugural showcase this Saturday 16th January at 2pm at The Capitol Theatre, Tamworth.

Female Artist of the Year Golden Guitar finalist, Lianna Rose (also finalist for Video Clip of the Year), will perform alongside fellow Golden Guitar nominees, Victoria Baillie and Ronni Rae Rivers (both finalists for Maton New Talent of the Year) and chart topping artists, Luke O’Shea (#9 Country Tracks Top 30) and The Harmonators (#12 Country Tracks Top 30) at the show which will be hosted by comedian Darren Carr.

Under new management, the new Golden Saddle Award featured many changes in 2009, including a new cash prize of $5000 given to the overall winner, and an additional $1000 cash given to the People’s Choice winner.

The award, presented in partnership with Rooty Hill RSL and Southern Cross Television, had an unprecedented number of applications this year from independent artists residing in Queensland, ACT, New South Wales and Victoria, who had to submit a marketing and business plan along with their music for entry.

Lianna Rose was announced the overall Golden Saddle Award winner in 2009, while Luke O’Shea impressed the crowd at Rooty Hill RSL at the September 12th show and took home the People’s Choice Award.

All 5 finalists appear at the Tamworth showcase this weekend.
