Brad Paisley's T.V Series
Brad Paisley's wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley just came off a long run on 'According To Jim' so maybe it's expected the country music star will get involved in t.v too. Brad Paisley is set to co-produce a new drama tentatively called 'Nashville' about a female singer who has 'star' written all over her. It also follows a male songwriter who may never see success. Paisley's music will be a part of the series and the man himself may even appear in an episode now and then. Other country artists will also be heard on the show with Paisley saying to 'look for some of your favourite country artists to make their acting debut on the show, either by playing themselves or by playing a character in the script." The show is set to premiere next year - we can't wait!

Taylor S. and Chesney In The Running For Billboard's Tour Awards
Kenny Chesney knows how to choose his opening acts and create non-stop action on stage. His Sun City Carnival Tour is up for Billboard Award for the Top Tour Package. The award goes to the top grossing tour with three or more artists on the bill. Chesney is a five-time winner, touring in the past with country stars Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Sugarland and Montgomery Gentry. Sun City Carnival is up against tours headlined by The Jonas Brothers, and Nickleback. Taylor Swift is up for Billboard's Breakthrough Awrtis Award. Billboard says Taylor is one of four artists who enjoyed remarkable touring breakthroughs this year. Taylor is competing with Lil Wayne, Kings of Leon and Il Divo. The awards are announced on 5th November - we'll keep you posted!

Little Big Town - Boy or Girl?
There's a lot of anticipation at Little Big Town as they announced last week married band members Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook are having a baby, due for March next year. Right now they are staying mum on whether it's a boy or a girl though Karen has said she's talked Jimi into letting her "find out what it's going to be". Sounds like it won't be that difficult cause Jimi has already said "that's coming up soon".

Jewel Joins Rascal Flatts On Denny's Overnight Menu
After a concert this is the sort of late-night snack Jewel like to eat - a quesadilla filled with smoked chicken, a blend of cheese, avocado, spicy mayonnaise and pico de gallo - served with sour cream and a lime wedge. Now Jewel's late night snack has been added to Denny's All-Nighter Menu joining Rascal Flatts cholesterol extravaganza called Rascal Flatts Unstoppable Breakfast. It's a biscuit topped with country fried steak, eggs, American Cheese covered in country gravy, topped with bacon and served with hash browns.

Garth Brooks New Jet
When a man gives you a private jet, how can you say no? Garth Brooks certainly didn't when owner of Wynn Las Vegas Hotel offered to give him his own! The jet will help Garth travel between his home in Oklahoma and Las Vegas for his performances at Wynn Hotel, never missing a beat with his family. Steve Wynn was determined to get Garth Brooks for his encore theatre saying "when a man can do what Garth does it's almost a crime against nature for him not to".

Taylor Swift Says Gloriana Better Watch Out
The first half of Taylor Swift's Fearless Tour is coming to an end in Minneapolis U.S meaning one thing - pranks. And they'll be directed at tour mate Gloriana. Taylor says Gloriana may "Think they're col because they'll like come out for an encore" and maybe "stick a band-aid on somebody's back or something," as if that's a good one. But she says they "don't even know what's coming in Minneapolis, it's going down."

Jake Owen Cuts His Hair! And the women are sad...
It's sad but true. Sexy country singer Jake Owen has cut his hair and the women (especially those in his fanclub who regularly discuss his luscious locks) are sad. Photographic evidence of the scissors attack was posted on Twitter by a fan who snapped the new-look singer performing at a private radio station event in Texas last Thursday. No word from Jake as to why he cut off his mane.

Gretchen Wilson is starting her own record label, officially launching Redneck Records - big suprise huh! The company is setting up shop at Studio 27 in TN with Wilson at the helm as president. She's already got distribution through Red and is planning on releasing an album next year. The first single 'Work Hard, Play Harder' which was penned by Wilson, John Rich and Vicky Mcgehee will make its radio debut on the 26th October. Will Gretchen dust off her Musik Mafia persona to become country music's favourite badgirl? Time will tell!

Carrie Underwood Draws on 80's Pop Rock For 'Cowboy Casanova'
Being part of the MTV generation it's not suprising that 80's pop rock music sensibility runs deep through Carrie Underwoods sound - the days of country artists only exposed to country music are long gone (what with the internet, music tv...). Ms Underwood draws on these influences more than every on a traditional single with Cowboy Cassonova. The comparisons to Shania Twain are inevitable here and Ms Underwood is on records as a Twain fan, whose brilliance lies in her brilliant pop records with country instrumentation. It's difficult to do pop well in the first place, let alone incorporate country into it. On Cowboy Casanova Underwood makes a strong attempt.
